   It was released in the US on (Decca DXSW ), then as two CDs (MCA MCAD), MFSL with a single disc remix in (MCAD) and in the UK as a Deluxe Edition SACD hybrid (Geffen B) in In Tommy was released as a Super Deluxe Edition (See BOX SETS). In Tommy reached #2 in the UK charts.

   This is the album that propelled the Who into legend land, and Pete's first foray into concept albums. I listen to this vinyl lp and it takes me back to a time when there was just so much great music being made. The story of Tommy (which everyone knows) shows the Who becoming a great band, not just top ten 45 rpm act/5().

   Tracks 1 to 24 are the double-album "Tommy" - released in the USA on Decca DSXW and in the UK on Track Records /4. Original copies came with a 'libretto' booklet featuring lyrics and drawings pertinent to the 'Rock Opera' – all of it is reproduced in the page CD booklet with added reissue credits/5(1).
